October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! To support those afflicted, take a look at these Breast Cancer Awareness events in Denver! There’s always a way to lend your time and talents to these charities that are joining survivors in the fight. Find an event that speaks to you and then invite your neighbors from The Amaranth Denver to get involved, as well!
Bright Pink October Outreach
On October 20th, join Bright Pink for their pumpkin carving Outreach. Bright Pink focuses their efforts on prevention. For this event, all you need is a pumpkin, some carving tools, and some goodies to get carving and share with the group.
Pink Tie Affair
If you enjoy getting dressed up, this event for the well-known Susan G. Komen organization is perfect for you. It is a fancy affair that’s perfect for those who enjoy a black tie affair every now and then. You can expect the event to include dinner, drinks, a silent auction, dancing, and casino games. You can also expect to have a great time for a great cause.
Glamour Bar - Pink with a Purpose
All throughout October, Glamour Bar will donate $3 to Sense of Security for every pink Giella custom lipstick or lipgloss sold. Sense of Security works to ensure that breast cancer patients going through treatment have the best quality of life possible. This is the best idea for anyone who wants to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but is struggling to fit an event, or volunteer hours into his or her busy schedule.
Volunteer
October isn’t the only month you should get involved! If your schedule is tight this month, consider attending an event at a later date by volunteering! Any of these organizations need a lot of help planning these events and ensuring they run smoothly year-after-year. Volunteering is also a great choice for people who are on a tight budget and don’t have extra money to donate at the time.
From breast cancer research, to helping the people who are currently undergoing treatment, there are many fronts that need support in the fight against breast cancer. Take action this October and participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
